Hey everybody, I'm bringing on Alyssa Degotti. She's a singer-songwriter, an incredible human being, dear friend of mine.
She's overcome chronic illness, severe debilitating chronic illness.
She has recovered. Her life is renewed.
And she's going to tell her story and she's going to sing two songs.
one song, the Angel of Mercy song, which is such an incredible song, a song that's dear to my heart,
a song that's just amazing. And she's also going to sing another song too, which is one of my
favorite songs ever. So I hope you guys, um, hope you guys come on and I hope you're ready for this
because it moves me to tears. I know so many people in the medical medium community where her
music who know elissa degati she's a hero among the medical medium community and to so many um
let's bring her on excited so let's see if she comes on here um there she is
incredible incredible um i was just telling everybody that you're an inspiration that you're
I mean, what you've gone through with your chronic illness, how you survived it, how it's led you here today, how you created the Angel of Mercy song that you're going to sing.
You're going to do Watch Me Fly Later, which is one of my favorite songs ever, too.
So Angel of Mercy is one of my favorite songs, too.
So, you know, I love all your music.
Thank you.
And everybody's coming on now.
Where can we hear your music anyway before you even start your story and start your song and everything?
Yeah, you can hear it on Spotify, iTunes, Apple, YouTube, basically anywhere that you can stream or download music.
And there's a link in my profile.
My username is at Alyssa Degatti, and there's a little website link in my description.
Incredible.
Wonderful, wonderful.
And so, hey.
Take it away.
Take it away.
Take it away.
Incredible.
Amazing.
Thank you.
Well, too much I fear.
I don't want to do this on my own.
And I'm scared of being alone.
Hey, angel of mercy.
Can you hear my cry?
This world is heavy
There's too much to carry
Will you take it for me?
I'm surrendering
I'm surrendering
It's hard to see the end of the road
When all I see is the end of the road
And I know it gets better in time
But I feel so blind
I don't want to fight this anymore
Cause everything feels unsure
Hey, angel of mercy
Can you hear my chorale?
This world is heavy
There's too much to carry me
Will you take it from me?
I'm surrendering
I'm surrendering
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Can you hear me?
Hey, angel of mercy
Can you hear my cry?
This world is heavy.
It's too much to carry.
Will you take it from me?
I'm surrendering.
I'm surrendering.
Surrendering.
oh my god incredible thank you thank you
i get hooked up really bad really bad during that song because you know and i i just think
about what you've gone through with your story and on mattress island so many people here they
can relate to that they they know what it's like to be on mattress island and you know your music
is not just powerfully spiritually powerfully and uplifting and soul changing it's soul healing too
but it's validating to like what we've gone through when we're suffering with chronic
illness is validating for when people are struggling then they can't find answers
if you got if you got some time can you tell us your story i would love to
started and how you got here today. Yeah. Well, it started early at an early age and
I was a pretty sick kid. I had a lot of strep, a lot of, I just always had sinus infections and
like multiple times a year and lots of bronchitis and like stuff with my breathing,
asthma. And then I started my cycle at nine, so pretty young. And with that came a host of
like a laundry list of symptoms, everything from body acne to severe constipation.
I didn't know it was normal to only go to the bathroom like once every two weeks.
um i had uh uh what else yeast infections um so many things i i developed an eating disorder
because i had weight gain um at that age so i struggled with that like for many years and then
um i kept going to all these doctors all these specialists and then when i was in high school i
ended up going to more specialists. And then I, when I was a senior in high school, I woke up one
day with blood clots in my lungs. And I really had no answer to that. It was just kind of a
mystery. And I didn't know how to cope with almost dying from a life-threatening condition and not
knowing why. And I was told that I just had, my body was attacking itself. And I just always
believed I had horrible genes and I was doomed forever. So anyway, I was pursuing my music
and I was living in California and it was about two years after I had the blood clots and I had
my first panic attack and started developing anxiety. And then when I was 23, one day I
couldn't swallow. I couldn't swallow anymore. And I went to every doctor, every therapist,
every specialist. I had every test done and I was told it was all in my head. And then I just
went downhill pretty fast and I started to just waste away. I couldn't function. I couldn't work.
I couldn't, I couldn't eat. I couldn't drink. I was put on protein shakes and pharmaceuticals and
just thought I was going to have to go on like that. And I didn't know how I didn't, I couldn't
wrap my head around. It was such a struggle to get through every second of every day. Like when
you can't eat and you can't drink. And nobody understood. Like I was told I was, it was for
attention. I was making it up. It was all in my head and I lost everything. Like it felt like
overnight, but I lost everything. I lost my family, friends, relationships, my job, my passions,
everything so I was just on mattress island just like suffering in every way my nervous system was
completely fried I was triggered by everything lights sound like all the senses I was just
like it felt like an electrical storm just like going crazy and and I just I prayed for a miracle
because at this point I had gone to the ends of the earth.
I mean, I tried healers and everything.
I mean, everything, you name it.
And I felt so alone.
I felt so alone because no one had ever seen this.
Like no one saw this.
The swallowing turned into a phobia.
I was diagnosed with a swallowing phobia,
and then I was agoraphobic too because I couldn't leave the house.
I couldn't do anything.
and um yeah it was it was crazy and i was just praying for a miracle and that's when
that's when i found this book called medical medium you know like no one no one knows what
it's like to go through this unless they've been in your shoes bottom line people who have never
experienced it could never imagine like what's what's agoraphobic like what is that like does
that just mean you're crazy you just can't leave your house and you know and then the doctor's
telling you it's all in your head yeah and you must be making it up or you're crying you must
be trying Alyssa you must be just wanting attention maybe that's what it is yeah Alyssa
wants attention. You want a pulmonary blood clot, you know, severe neurological condition where you
can't speak, talk, swallow, or eat, and you're just stuck on mattress island and you can't do
anything. You can't pursue your career. You can't even live life. Nevermind pursuing your career.
You can't even get up and go to the kitchen. Right. I mean, you know, and, and then the
crippling anxiety and the PTSD. Right. And unless someone's experienced that and they've been in
your shoes and they know what that's like, they'll just, they won't know. And what I, what's
incredible about your story is you, you rose out of that, you know, you just, you weren't going to
let that take you down. That wasn't going to be, that wasn't going to be the thing you were going
to get out of this and you fought and fought for it and you found the medical medium book and
but something inside you like i always say is inside of people in the medical medium community
is there something inside of us here yeah you don't see out there you know and and i think there
is this community is is probably one of the most powerful spiritual communities because absolutely
I mean, is it not? You're a hero to so many people in the community as it is. And with your music and your story. And I mean, I hear it all the time. Melissa, Melissa, listen to God. And, and, and the thing is, is that you feel it too, that this community is like spiritually one of the most powerful because everybody's been through so much.
And when you really put all that together, it's like a powerhouse.
It's the most powerful.
Yeah.
The, the, the, the validating.
And so you, so you were 23 years old when you had, when you, well, you were in high
school when you had the pulmonary embolism.
Yeah.
You were in high school.
Yeah.
That's a lot for someone in high school.
Yeah.
So you're, you're living your life.
You still, you already had these other sicknesses you struggled with.
right and all through there but you were able to still function and i've seen that with people
where they're sick with a lot of symptoms but they're still able to function enough and then
you got hit with those pulmonary embolisms right in high school and that's got to be just that must
have been so devastating all on its own and confusing it was just like it was just too much
to process it was such a shock and even the doctors like i was still seeing a pediatrician
because I was so young and they were the doctors at the pediatrician and even at the hospital all
said we have never seen this like this is we've never seen a case like this before nobody at this
age has ever and I'm sure other people have but in my city like it was just unheard of and um
what's really what's really remarkable is I found out that three other girls showed up with
pulmonary embolisms not long after me and they were able to save their life because they had
because I was like the pioneer, I guess.
I went through it first and then they knew to look for it and say,
oh, that's not impossible.
So your experience like saved three other girls' lives
because, you know, you taught those doctors that this could happen.
This could happen.
And you got to look for this.
It's a miracle that they listened enough to you.
that's how much of a fighter you are to because because a lot of girls are just told it's in your
head it's in your head it's in your head yeah chalk it up and grow up and you know and you
didn't want to be sick and that's what everybody's told is like you want to be sick everybody's told
that you you know you're sick because you want to be sick and that was never in your being ever like
why would you want to be sick? Right. No, I did not want to be sick. And you're so right about like,
I had all of these symptoms and things my whole life. But I just thought it was like normal,
you know, I mean, it was horrible to be plagued with acne, like at such a young age, too. And
just feeling like, I just thought like, my body hated me. I thought I had the worst genes. I was
always told you'll grow out of it even though I did try every treatment for that but that in itself
like the physical and the emotional pain of acne but then I had like a million other things to go
along with it and debilitating cycles and um yeah but it was it was the blood clots that was the
first like whoa the first big moment of whoa like this is this is crazy and I don't know what to do
with this? What does this mean for me? I didn't know how to go on. I didn't know, like, how do you
like adjust and adapt after having a near-death experience and then not having any answers? Like,
I wanted certainty. I wanted to know you have a condition. And I was always looking for that. And
I could never get any answers. So I just kind of ran from it. And I tried to move on with my life.
and then PTSD hit me hard.
You're trying to do your musical career, right?
Because you have such a gift to sing
and everybody knows that here.
Thank you.
And you have this incredible, powerful gift.
And so you're trying to push past those.
You recovered enough from the embolisms.
You've moved past that a little bit.
You're trying to now, okay, I have to get my life going.
I'm young.
And boom, it hits you again.
Yeah. And it was like, I just always thought, I remember I ended up in the ER a few times
thinking I was dying. I just, I didn't know how to trust my body after that. I didn't know like
what the anxiety was. I just, yeah, it was, it was severe PTSD and, and, and I kind of left that
untreated. Like it started when I was 19 or 20, the panic attacks. And then it ended up getting
so bad that I had to leave California and come back home and and that was devastating that was
like soul crushing it was a neurological condition yeah it's a crippling neurological condition yeah
it's not elicit's all in your head it's not a list that you're making this up you couldn't swallow
you couldn't eat and I couldn't describe it was like hard enough to even describe
that because I didn't I wasn't aware it was neurological I was just like I can't swallow
anymore but there was no physical blockage and there was they did the endoscopies and they
stretched the esophagus and they did all these things that there was nothing even there so they
weren't finding anything and they're like yeah just in your head and I was like what do I do
with this because I'm dying here I can't I can't eat or drink how do I and and then my whole world
changed. It was like, I lost everything in that second, everything about my lifestyle changed.
I used to love going out to eat and, you know, and I felt tremendous amount of shame too. Like
it was just, it was hard. And I felt, I felt so alone, but even through that, like I,
I was accused of like just wanting attention and, um, it's just in your head. And that was so hard,
so hard well you're 23 years old 22 23 years old and it's an easy blame game for on a 22 year old
a 23 year old uh woman because it's like it's it's easy for the doctors to just pull that card
you know and it's like no you just want attention and then here you're everything was in your career
in that moment, right? You know, you're, and, and then you had to give that up, you know,
it's like, you just had to give that up and, and relationships too. And I think that's a part
that's never talked about out there. And I've brought that up many times where how come no
one's talking about the relationships when girls get really sick, they get chronic illness and
then they lose their boyfriends, they lose their relationships and how devastating that is all in
all on its own. Yeah. And I hear it all the time that, um, dudes don't want sick girls.
I hear this all the time out there, you know, that, and, um, and it's not, I'm not saying
dudes are bad. I've seen, I've seen some girls out there that don't want sick dudes. Yeah.
But, um, but it's a big thing where dudes don't want sick girls. They, they just, it's like,
what's wrong with you you know why are you sick uh i don't know what i got myself into
this is a devastating area it's never talked about no one says a peep out there about it
and um but i've watched it happen so many times and you went through it i did a few times a few
times being sick because it's like you know and and and i think the losses it's it's just being
sick and then the losses combined. Yeah. Yeah. That was so hard. I mean, friendships and
boyfriends and family members and not having like answers to give them. Like I didn't even know how
to describe or articulate what was going on with me. I just knew that I was sick and getting sicker
And, and I felt so abandoned. It was, it was devastating. And I know so many people have experienced that and it's heartbreaking.
oh you know you're you've you've come from so much with this and what i've always said that
term rising out of the ashes you know and coming from hell and back would you like
being that sick for that long and those serious conditions like would you feel like that was hell
because i i try to say yeah like well it's not hell and i'm like well you haven't been there
then you don't you haven't been sick enough it and and there's a difference you know there's
because there's people out there they're not so sick out there exactly they're playing around in
the health field in the alternative field and they're trying everything out there they're you
know trying this water or they're trying this little thing and they don't see their practitioners
and but they're living their life and they don't know the difference between that and whoa this is
taking me down yeah and fast and i have triple i have respect for everybody but i have tremendous
respect for the ones that have really they've been they've been down and out and and because
we have to we have to and you know like people you've bumped into them in the medical medium
community you've seen their suffering and you know they see you as this this um not just hope
but they see they see you as this legend of well she can get out of that you know then i can get
out of that she got better i can get better and that's why you're so important because some people
they get in there and they just can't get out and do you ever look at yourself can i ask you this
question do you ever look at yourself and say i wish when i was really really sick that there
was someone like elissa degati that got out of it and can tell her story you know what i mean
if that you were you had a list of your future elissa to be able to talk to you
what i would have given yeah i would have given anything anything and i didn't i did not think i
would make it i truly didn't believe i didn't know yeah i didn't think i would make it so
I would have given anything I used to google and try to like describe and articulate everything I
was feeling and try to find other other souls out there in the universe that maybe experienced this
exactly like me and and I didn't I'm sure there are but I I didn't and then I felt even worse
and I was like I'm just hopeless completely hopeless oh my god um when so when you start
so you found the medical medium book you just like do you feel like it was divine like
providential divine divine guidance angelic absolutely um you know a message from god from
heaven like because i i hear all the time for years since the first book went out there and
even before the book and people came to me to the office for decades is that uh an angel
you know gave me the message i was i was at a grocery store in the checkout line
and the checkout person just started talking about the book or and it was like these these
moments that come so you had you you got the book and what happened when you were like you saw
yourself in that book like wait a minute there's it was absolutely divine intervention like without
a doubt I've never experienced like truth and an absolute knowing in my being ever in my life and
it was just like a really profound moment like I just sobbed when I found the book and I was reading
like every word was like I was talking to God it was like and I I was completely understood for the
first time in my life and I just like sobbed with relief like I was like oh my god not only am I
like seen and understood but there's hope like and there's there's a way out like there's and
and it was truly like when I couldn't hold on anymore and it was right at that moment that I
found you and truly like saved my life uh yeah I just saved me in every way you found answers yeah
right and when you're sick in your condition and there's like never an answer it just
just takes us to a dark place if there's never an answer yeah yeah well you're
you're incredible and thank you what were what were some of the things you did the medical
medium stuff that you do you tried the celery juice start bringing that in and people people
people who don't know don't know that that is one powerful tool. It's super powerful. It's funny
because I first learned that celery was like one of the top tools that I knew I had to start
implementing. And there was a part of me, like I just my whole life, I hated celery. Like you
couldn't pay me to eat celery. And here I'm like, well, the cure is celery juice. How am I going to
juice this and when when I couldn't swallow or anything I was like how am I going to do this but
I was willing to do anything and um that was the very first thing that I tried and I felt
I felt it instantly like just the powers of celery juice it was it was amazing and then
I am in love with it now and it actually wasn't like I was terrified I was like oh it's gonna be
how it tastes. And it was very pleasant. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Better than a benzodiazepine?
Oh, God. Way better. No comparison.
Better than that pill box that you had?
Well, I couldn't swallow pills either. It was such a nightmare. I would have to crush them up
and be like, just, yeah, I had to have all the thickeners. And it was just like a nightmare.
So, yeah, we go to the doctor. The doctor doesn't know why you can't swallow, why you can't,
why you can't eat, why you can't. But here, have a horse pill and try to swallow that down.
You are, you are on insure, like probably on insure and just drinking that, right?
Yeah. I was told I could live on that for the rest of my life. So don't worry.
And then you had to crush your pills. I mean, at, at age 22, 23.
Mm-hmm and keep them straight and remember like did I take that like there were so many I mean there was because it was the chronic acid reflux and chronic constipation and like everything I was on so many pills.
It's just only someone who's been there can really understand that and I know the medical meeting community they've been there and even some that haven't been there really still have their own powerful story.
they've been they've been through a lot but but you know but if they ever run into somebody out
there that's been seriously ill and chronically sick and been really down and out like you are
at least they know that you recovered you recovered so there's there's hope for there's hope
yeah um did you did you venture in any of the meditations the medical medium meditations too
Oh, yes. I love the meditations.
They're like the most powerful meditations I've ever experienced.
And I had tried them all and they are like viscerally,
like just so profoundly powerful and life-changing.
And I, I mean,
the medical medium information has healed me on every level,
like tremendously. I'm walking miracle physically,
but like spiritually and like every emotionally,
like profound healing. And yeah,
the angels are a powerful part of my story.
I call on them every day and, and it's, it's incredible.
That's incredible. It really is. Heavy metal detox smoothie.
It's my favorite. I do that every day. I love it. I love it so much.
Well, you look amazing.
Thank you.
You're strong.
You're vital.
And your singing power is unmatched.
Okay.
Thank you so much.

Incredible.
Incredible.
I don't want to start over again, but I know that this has to end for me to get where I'm going.
Gonna use the pain to make a change.
I'm ready to play.
Leave it all behind.
Even when I'm nervous, I'll find the courage to rise from the fire like a true fire.
Oh, this is my time.
I'm gonna play.
This is all new to me
But I see beauty in the breaking
Now I know where I stand
If I fall I know that I'll end
I'm gonna live in the moment, oh.
Gonna use the pain to make a change.
I'm ready to fly, leave it all behind.
Even when I'm nervous, I'll find the courage
to rise from the fire like a true fighter.
Oh, this is my time.
I'm gonna fly.
I'm ready to fly.
I'm ready to fly.
I'm ready.
I'm ready to fly.
I'm ready to fly.
I'm ready to fly.
Leaving all behind.
Even when I'm nervous, I'll find the courage to rise from the fire.
I let that trophy.
Oh, this is my time.
I'm gonna fly.
Watch me fly
